Working at Heights

This program addresses the legislative requirements relating to fall protection.

The areas of theoretical training will include:

    1. Fall hazard awareness
    2. Safe use of ladders and scaffolds
    3. Power Elevated Work Platforms
    4. Inspection of fall protection equipment
    5. Proper use of fall protection equipment

The practical component of this course will include:

  1. The inspection and use of a harness and lanyard
  2. The inspection and use of other fall protection equipment such as a rope grab and life line, anchor point, and self-retracting life line

Course Delivery Format:

  • IN PERSON – Saturday (7:30AM – 3:30PM)

Completion of this course is mandatory for employment with Local 27, and must be renewed every three years. 

This course and all associated written learning materials and examinations are available in English only.

Prerequisites: None

Required Tools/Supplies: Pen/Pencil and PPE (Hard Hat, Safety Boots, Safety Glasses, Long Pants, T-Shirt or Long-Sleeved Shirt).

Deposit Requirements: This is a high demand course. “No Shows” will not be tolerated for any reason. Individuals who fail to attend this class will forfeit their $100.00 course deposit.
