WHMIS/GHS

This course will review workers’ rights regarding health and safety matters.

The areas of training will include:

1. 1. The right to know
   2. The right to participate
   3. The right to refuse
   4. The history of WHMIS/GHS legislation
   5. Labels
   6. Material Safety Data Sheets
   7. Routs of entry
   8. Hazard controls
   9. How WHMIS/GHS is applied in construction

This is a self-guided online class. A link to the course material/exam will be sent via email on the day of the class. In order to receive certification, the course must be completed before 10:00PM on the date that it is assigned.

Completion of this course is mandatory for employment with Local 27, and must be renewed on a yearly basis. 

This course and all associated written learning materials and examinations are available in English only.

Prerequisites: None

Required Tools/Supplies: Computer/Tablet/Phone, Internet Access, and a VALID Email Address.

Deposit Requirements: Course deposits are refunded upon course completion. Refunds will NOT be issued to students who fail to complete the training session on the date that it is assigned.
