This course meets the requirements of Ontario Regulation 297/13 made under the Occupational Health and Safety Act requiring any worker (new or existing) to have proof of completing a Basic Occupational Health and Safety Awareness course.
The areas of training will include:

- The duties and rights of the worker
- Duties of the employer and supervisor
- Roles of health and safety representatives and JHSCs
- The role of the MOL and other workplace parties
- Common workplace hazards

Completion of this course is mandatory for employment with Local 27.

Computer/Tablet/Phone (with a working microphone and camera), Internet Access, Microsoft TEAMS (App or Web Access), and a VALID Email Address. To avoid forfeiting your seat, course deposits must be paid 72 hours prior to the start date of the course.
Deposit Requirements: Course deposits are refunded upon course completion. Refunds will NOT be issued to students who fail to attend, who exceed the maximum allowable absence(s) permitted by the course, and/or to students who are removed from the course at the discretion of the Instructor(s). Please allow 2-3 weeks for refunds to be processed.
