This course will review workers’ rights regarding health and safety matters: the right to know, the right to participate, and the right to refuse. The history of WHMIS/GHS legislation, labels, Material Safety Data Sheets, routes of entry, hazard controls, and how WHMIS/GHS is applied in construction will also be explored. A record of training card will be issued on successful completion of the course.
WHMIS/GHS training is a requirement to work on all Local 27 jobsites.
WHMIS/GHS training must be renewed every year.
This course and all associated written learning materials and examinations are available in English only. If you need help with translation, reading, or writing, you may ask a friend or family member (who is not registered to attend the class) to assist you. If you require translation and/or literacy support, and you do not have anyone to assist you, please contact the office at least 48 hours prior to the start of the course.

Computer/Tablet/Phone, Internet Access, and a VALID Email Address. To avoid forfeiting your seat, course deposits must be paid 72 hours prior to the start date of the course.
Deposit Requirements: Course deposits are refunded upon course completion. Refunds will NOT be issued to students who fail to attend, who exceed the maximum allowable absence(s) permitted by the course, and/or to students who are removed from the course at the discretion of the Instructor(s). Please allow 2-3 weeks for refunds to be processed.
