The Working Mind (TWM) is part of the Opening Minds initiative, manged by the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC). Launched by MHCC in 2013, TWM was developed by clinicians and peers and is based on scientific research and best practices.
This course is designed to increase your awareness of mental health, reduce stigma and other barriers to care in the workplace, encourage mental health conversations, strengthen your resilience in order to maintain wellness and help you support yourself and others.
This course also offers practical knowledge to increase participants’ overall comfort level with mental illness.
Upon completing this course, you will understand mental health and mental illness, recognize its signs and indicators in yourself and others. Reduce stigma and negative attitudes towards people with mental health problems and improve their resilience and maintain your own mental health.
This course and all associated written learning materials and examinations are available in English only. If you need translation assistance, you are welcome to bring a translator (friend or Family member, who is not registered to attend the class) to the course with you. If you have other literacy or reading challenges, you may also bring a reader to assist you. If you do not have anyone to help you with either your translation or reading needs, please contact our office as soon as possible before the course so that we can arrange assistance for you.
If minimum enrolment is not met the course will be cancelled.

Deposit Requirements: The $100.00 course fee is a refundable deposit which will be credited back to you upon successful completion of the course unless you have exceeded the maximum allowable absence(s) permitted by your course.
