The objective of this course is to provide the student with the theory and hands-on practice to rig safely and productively. This course introduces the student to the history of rigging, wire rope, chain, slings, hardware, and knots. This is followed by rigging procedures and signaling. The theory component will involve calculating weights, center of gravity, load charts and sling stress as well as other math modules. The practical component will involve inspecting rigging hardware, selecting the right hardware for the lift and using voice/hand signals with the crane operator to hoist various objects. This course is 5 days in duration and 100% attendance is required in order to receive certification.
This course and all associated written learning materials and examinations are available in English only. If you need help with translation, reading, or writing, you may ask a friend or family member (who is not registered to attend the class) to assist you. If you require translation and/or literacy support, and you do not have anyone to assist you, please contact the office at least 48 hours prior to the start of the course.
Courses that do not meet minimum enrollment requirements will be cancelled.

Individuals who fail to attend this class will forfeit their $100.00 course deposit (re: a refund WILL NOT be issued).
