This course focuses on the safe operation of both scissor and boom type elevating work platforms. In class instruction reviews the operator’s responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act, proper inspection, maintenance procedures, and safe operating industry best practices. Each student will be required to pass a written test and to complete a practical evaluation. The practical evaluation is approximately 4 hours in length. A record of training card will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
This course and all associated written learning materials and examinations are available in English only. If you need help with translation, reading, or writing, you may ask a friend or family member (who is not registered to attend the class) to assist you. If you require translation and/or literacy support, and you do not have anyone to assist you, please contact the office at least 48 hours prior to the start of the course.
Courses that do not meet minimum enrollment requirements will be cancelled.

Required Tools/Supplies:
Theory: Computer/Tablet/Phone (with a working microphone and camera), Internet Access, Microsoft TEAMS (App or Web Access), and a VALID Email Address. Practical: PPE (Hard Hat, Safety Boots, Safety Glasses). To avoid forfeiting your seat, course deposits must be paid 72 hours prior to the start date of the course.
Deposit Requirements: This is a high demand course. “No Shows” will not be tolerated for any reason. Individuals who fail to attend this class will forfeit their $100.00 course deposit (re: a refund WILL NOT be issued). If you are unable to attend your scheduled class, please cancel your enrollment THREE BUSINESS DAYS prior to the start date of the class. Thanks.
