This course focuses on the safe operation of both scissor and boom type elevating work platforms. In class instruction reviews the operator’s responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act, proper inspection, maintenance procedures, and safe operating industry best practices. Each student will be required to pass a written test and schedule a practical evaluation on each machine after the in class instruction component. The practical evaluation is approximately 4 hours per machine. A record of training card will be issued on successful completion of the course.
This course and all associated written learning materials and examinations are available in English only. If you need translation assistance, you are welcome to bring a translator (friend or Family member, who is not registered to attend the class) to the course with you. If you have other literacy or reading challenges, you may also bring a reader to assist you. If you do not have anyone to help you with either your translation or reading needs, please contact our office as soon as possible before the course so that we can arrange assistance for you.

Deposit Requirements: The $50.00 course fee is a refundable deposit which will be credited back to you upon successful completion of the course unless you have exceeded the maximum allowable absence(s) permitted by your course.
Location: : Theory will be online and practicals will be held in-house at 420 Rowntree Dairy Rd.

*Note: The theory portion of this course will be online. You will need to download the TEAMS App and will need a camera and microphone to participate in this course. The practical's will be scheduled during the online component. Once scheduled, the practical's will take place at the College of Carpenters Training Centre, at 420 Rowntree Dairy Road.
