Students are introduced to basic geometric layout and to the math that is required in layout. Students are then taught how to use a Builder’s Level, a Digital Theodolite, and a Builder’s Transit Level.
Math proficiency is a MUST to take this course. Individuals looking to enroll in this program must be listed as a 2nd term apprentice AND have completed either Basic Carpentry OR Construction Math.
Course Delivery Format:
- IN PERSON: Tuesday and Thursday Evenings (5:00PM – 9:00PM)
- IN PERSON: Saturdays (8:00AM – 4:00PM)

Courses that do not meet minimum enrollment requirements will be cancelled.

Required Tools/Supplies:
Practical: Hammer, scientific calculator, tool pouch, tape measure, chalk line, plumb bob, notebook, pen and PPE.
Deposit Requirements: This is a high demand course. “No Shows” will not be tolerated for any reason. Individuals who fail to attend this class will forfeit their $100.00 course deposit.
