This course explores basic computer concepts at the beginner level. You will learn about the various parts that make up a computer, how to use a keyboard and mouse including how to activate shortcuts, create, copy, rename and move files and folders, how to surf the net, navigate menu bars and ribbons, save files and folders to different devices such as USB/flash/thumb drive, create and attach files to email, use electronic drop boxes to download and upload files, etc.
This course and all associated written learning materials and examinations are available in English only. If you need translation assistance, you are welcome to bring a translator (friend or Family member, who is not registered to attend the class) to the course with you. If you have other literacy or reading challenges, you may also bring a reader to assist you. If you do not have anyone to help you with either your translation or reading needs, please contact our office as soon as possible before the course so that we can arrange assistance for you.
