Phase III or Advanced Level schooling is the third of three levels of mandatory in-class training that every General Carpenter apprentice is required to successfully complete. Phase III is 9 full-time weeks long; classes run all day, every day from Monday through Friday. Apprentices will be required to attain 60% or higher in each of the three reportable subjects in order to pass Phase III. The three reportable subjects are: Commercial Construction; Plans, Specifications, & Codes III; and Estimating, Calculations, & Layout III. The 9th and final week will review all trade areas in preparation for writing the Red Seal Certificate of Qualification Exam on the last day of class.

- Intermediate Carpentry – Phase II
- Basic Carpentry – Phase I

- Printreading for Heavy Commercial Construction (4th Edition)
- Concrete Formwork (5th Edition)
Required Tools/Supplies:
Aviation Snips, Drill Index, Hack (Saw), Keyhole (Saw), Wallboard (Saw), Vice Grips.
