Phase I or Basic Level schooling is the first of two levels of mandatory in-class training that every Floor Covering apprentice is required to successfully complete. Phase I is 10 full-time weeks long; classes run all day, every day from Monday through Friday. Apprentices will be required to attain 60% or higher in each of the four reportable subjects in order to pass Phase I. The four reportable subjects are: Trade Calculations; Floorplans & Layout; Trade Theory; and Trade Practice.
