Phase II or Advanced Level schooling is the second of two levels of mandatory in-class training that every Floor Covering apprentice is required to successfully complete. An 11th week has been added to Phase II; this will be 4 days of intensive review of all trade areas in preparation for writing the Red Seal Certificate of Qualification on the 5th day. If you have 6000 hours by successful completion of your 10 weeks of schooling (including the hours credited for your schooling) it is mandatory that you attend the 11th week. If you do not have sufficient hours your schooling will be the traditional 10 weeks and you will be eligible to write the exam when you have accumulated 6000 hours. Classes run all day, every day from Monday through Friday. Apprentices will be required to attain 60% or higher in each of the four reportable subjects in order to pass Phase II. The four reportable subjects are: Trade Calculations; Blueprint, Specification Reading, & Layout; Advanced Trade Theory; and Advanced Trade Practice.
