Formwork Level 1 is designed to train new apprentices who are interested in starting a career/apprenticeship in General Carpentry. Students will receive instruction on the layout, fabrication and setting of various types of concrete formwork.

In-class theory will include carpentry math, basic geometric layout (3-4-5) and industry best practices. In-shop practical projects will include power saw basics, hammering basics, measuring and marking, snap tie wall, machine base, columns with capitals and drops, suspended slap and bridge building techniques, and gang forms.

Individuals wishing to take this class must be able to lift up to 20kg.
