This mandatory training provides foundational knowledge regarding workplace health and safety. It is designed to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Ontario Regulation 297/13 requires any worker (new or existing) to have proof of completing a Basic Occupational Health and Safety Awareness course.
This is a self-guided online class outlining the duties and rights of the worker, the duties of the employer and supervisor, the roles of health and safety representatives and JHSCs, the role of the MOL and other workplace parties, as well as common workplace hazards.
An email containing the course link will be sent to the email address associated with your member account on the day of the class. Please check your Junk and Spam folders carefully. In order to receive certification, the course must be completed before 11:00PM on the date that it is assigned.
