Governance
The Board of Directors governing the CCAT is comprised of labour representatives from the Carpenters’ Local 27 Union and employer representatives from the General Contractors’ Section Toronto.
Two separate joint employer/labour committees, the Carpenters Joint Local Apprenticeship Committee and the Floor Covering Installer Joint Local Apprenticeship Committee, oversee all activities related to the carpentry and floor covering apprenticeship programs offered by CCAT. The carpenters’ apprenticeship system in Ontario’s unionized construction sector is a model of employer/labour cooperation that is essential for the industry’s future competitiveness and productivity.
Our Facilities
CCAT’s two state-of-the-art facilities in Woodbridge total approximately 113,000 square feet of “hands-on” shop and classroom areas that have been customized in accordance with the theoretical and practical requirements of the educational programs.
In addition to its fully site-simulated carpentry shops, CCAT is equipped with 13 electronic classrooms; 2 computer laboratories; a wood working machine shop, a welding shop, a floor covering installer shop and an ICRA Best Practices in Healthcare Construction laboratory.
